Mandatory Exemption Application for Foreign-Accredited Conformity Assessment Bodies
The Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) informs all conformity assessment bodies in Kenya accredited by foreign bodies to apply for exemption from KENAS accreditation. This requirement, effective from 27th December 2024, mandates compliance by 27th March 2025. Apply through the Exemption Application Application Form .

IN EXERCISE of powers conferred by paragraph II of the Kenya Accreditation Service Order, 2009, the Board of Kenya Accreditation Service makes the following schedules of fees:

NOTE:
a) Any fee charged shall be subject to value added tax.
b) The assessment fee has taken into account one assessor unit for two days.
c) The assessor unit consists of one lead assessor, a technical expert/assessor and Kenya Accreditation Service support required to facilitate the assessment. For complex assessment or wider scopes, the additional assessor/expert shall be charged based on the rate indicated on other charges.
d) These fees do not cover the cost of travel and accommodation outside Nairobi. The fees shall be borne by the client in the event that there are no established assessors within the region or location.
e) The Kenya Accreditation Service shall retain as penalty ten percent in value of accreditation assessments that are canceled less than five days to the assessment date. Gazettement as at 23rd August, 2012
