Accreditation Process

Client Application and Review

  • Applicant/Client inquires about accreditation.
  • KENAS sends a formal response on the terms and references applicable to the provision of accreditation services.
  • The client submits a signed formal application form, accreditation agreement and self-declaration form.
  • KENAS reviews the completeness of the application form and the submitted documents.
  • KENAS gives a formal response to the client. If successful, the client is informed of the next process, and if not, the client is given 30 days to resubmit the missing documents.

Assessment and Internal Peer Review

  • The completed application is reviewed for sustainability and resource availability.
  • The Client is informed of the outcome of the application review and the resource review which includes whether the assessment will be done in a timely manner.
  • Following the review, KENAS may request client for a preliminary visit before the initial assessment to establish the scope for accreditation.
  • A reassessment shall be conducted at least 6 months before the lapse of the accreditation cycle (Accreditation Cycle is Four Years).
  • The successful applicant is requested to submit all relevant documented information for document review.

Formal Accreditation Issuance

  • The applicant will be informed of the outcome of the document review.
  • Once satisfied with the document review, KENAS shall conduct the initial assessment and report the findings to the client.
  • KENAS shall review the closure of the non-conformities raised.
  • KENAS shall conduct an internal peer review where the client will be informed of the outcome.
  • KENAS shall make a formal accreditation decision and give formal communication to the client on the accreditation decision.

Periodic Assessment

  • Formal issuance of the accreditation certificate, accreditation marks and accreditation program to the client.
  • Periodic assessment activities are conducted annualy.
  • A reassessment shall be conducted at least 6 months before the lapse of the accreditation cycle (Accreditation Cycle is Four Years).
